AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, BUSINESS

Al Bawaba English is looking for an individual with experience building audiences for brands on digital networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat, Medium & others. A deep familiarity with different social media communities and a proven ability to apply that knowledge for clients and brands is critical.

Competency Framework

  • Quantifiable results working for established brands and/or startups in: (a) scaling an audience (b) communicating a clear message.
    • The ability to spot a distinctive editorial line, sharing and communicating different content types in a way which improves engagement and subscribers.
    • Exposure to United States, European and Middle Eastern social media networks.
    • Ability to brainstorm within a team on creative new ways to promote individual channels or editorial articles, including through design, video, GIFS, MEMEs or other techniques.
    • Willing to adapt tactics from the blogging and startup community to news publishing in a way which is proportionate and moderate where required.

    Main ActivitiesStrategic Goals: Maximising the impact of editorial articles and multimedia content across social media channels to build a clearly defined audience.

    Reports To: The Audience Development Editor reports to the Executive Publisher and the editorial teams in News, Business, Entertainment.

    Website to Email Conversion: Plans, executes and optimizes all website conversion architecture including new email subscriber relationships (Key Metric: Website to Email Conversion Rate, Email Circulation).

    Email Marketing: Plans, executes and optimizes daily email marketing campaigns using links, product reviews, embedded advertising and display advertising (Key Metrics: Email Circulation, Contact Frequency, Revenue per per Subscriber).

    Application Process

    Stage 1: Test For Selected Candidates

    • Selected candidates will be sent a short test over email. This test will evaluate written ability, the ability to share and curate content across different social media channels effectively, as well as evaluating metrics on audience impressions and interactions.

    Stage II: Interview

    • Stage II will involve a face-to-face interview.
    • Subsequent to the interview, applicants will be asked to present a two-page business plan on how they will work with editors across different channels to build new audiences around Al Bawaba content.

    Stage III: Offer

    • The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, and private health insurance.
    • 10-6pm, Sunday-Thursday.
    • Full-time role only.
    • Perfect spoken and written English.
