Accountant
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accountant will support the accounting team in managing financial documents and transactions and payments covering a broad variety of vendors, consultants, subcontractors, and training participants. The Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager and other accountants to coordinate and manage accounting tasks, budget-tracking, and financial documentation. Under the guidance and supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accountant will:
- Assist the Finance Manager in tracking each activity cost by its code through weekly and monthly analysis of the ROV and Abt/HO in addition to comparing it with the budget.
- Manage the spreadsheets that are designed for tracking all subcontractors’ expenses and billing as required.
- Communicate with Grants and Outreach teams to ensure timely submittal of the subcontractors’ invoices in a correct and acceptable manner.
- Assist the accountants in preparing payments for vendor’s invoices and submit them to the Finance Manager for verification, signature, and approval.
- Examine vouchers and invoices for accuracy and completion.
- Assist in preparing the monthly payroll for all local staff and consultants.
- Assist in distributing the Transportation-Compensation cash payments on participants and trainees, and also do the banks-deposits (as needed) participants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A maximum of 2-years’ experience would suffice.
- Excellent computer skills, especially in MS Excel and Outlook.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask within a team, and meet deadlines as required.
- Ability to join immediately is preferable.
- Owns a private car and is able to go out to the field whenever needed.
- Previous experience working with USAID projects highly preferable.
