The UNICEF Regional Office for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through effective support tocountry offices and strategic engagement with partners, contributes to winning support for the cause of children from decision makers and the wider public particularly on priority issues and accelerators. Context
The focus of HR positions at this level is on the provision of both standardized and specialized activities pertaining to recruitment and placement, administration of entitlements, staff development and career development, job classification and/or performance management. Specialized activities pertain to the application of HR regulations, rules and procedures in the context of clear guidelines and procedures where the choice of action is limited and where issues requiring clarification and decision are directed to the relevant HR Business Partner . For this specific assignment, the role will be crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of HR analytics and reporting by maintaining and customizing Power BI dashboards, Excel Power Query processes, and automating HR reports and internal processes. The expected result it to enable the HR team to access valuable insights, make data-driven decisions, and optimize HR processes, ultimately contributing to the success of the Recruitment hub. Analyze and interpret HR data to help inform strategic decision making on HR processes and strategies. Task description
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of HR Manager, the HR data analytics Specialist will have a strong background in HR data analysis and visualization, with expertise in creating HR dashboards using Power BI. As an HR Data Analytics Specialist, the candidate will play a critical role in providing insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making within our HR department. The candidate will also be expected to support recruitment and placement. • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to identify and understand their data and analytics needs; • Collect, clean, and analyze HR data from various sources, including tracking sheet, Talent Management system, ERP, performance management systems, employee surveys, and other relevant databases; • Develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports using Power BI to effectively visualize and communicate HR metrics, trends, and insights; • Identify key HR metrics and performance indicators to monitor and report on HR initiatives, such as recruitment, and diversity and inclusion; • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations within HR data, and provide actionable recommendations to improve HR recruitment processes; • Perform predictive analysis and forecasting using HR data to support workforce planning and talent management strategies; • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security, and assist in the implementation of data governance practices; • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR data analytics, and propose innovative approaches to improve data analysis and reporting capabilities; • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and customization of Power BI dashboards ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data displayed, updating visualizations as needed, and incorporating feedback from stakeholders to improve the dashboards’ effectiveness; • Identify areas for enhancement and implement changes to make the dashboards more intuitive and user-friendly; • Maintain and customize Excel Power Query processes. This involves managing data connections, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing queries to extract, transform, and load HR data effectively; • Work closely with the HR team to understand their data requirements and make necessary modifications to the Power Query processes to align with evolving needs; • Automate HR reports and internal processes using the existing tools. Leverage Power BI, Excel macros, and other automation techniques to streamline the generation and distribution of HR reports; • Collaborate with the HR team to identify opportunities for automation, design efficient workflows, and implement automated solutions; • Perform other tasks, which may include support in recruitment and placement under the MENARO recruitment hub which includes preparation and circulation of internal and external advertisements, liaising with candidates in the various stages of the recruitment process etc.

Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in HR data analysis and reporting, with a strong understanding of HR processes, metrics, and best practices. and; • Experience in use of data processing, data warehouse, data reporting, data visualization, data analysis, business intelligence, and performance monitoring is required; • Proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, to develop interactive and visually appealing HR dashboards and reports; • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights; • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python; • Familiarity with HR systems and ERP, such as SAP; • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and predictive modeling is a plus; • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders; • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity; • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously; • Prior experience in the HR function or HR data analytics is highly desirable; • Good knowledge of planning and/or project management principles and practices.

Living conditions and remarks
Amman, the capital, is a peaceful city with over four million residents. People are friendly to visitors. Services in terms of banking, transportation, health and communications are easily available. Though Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken among the majority of the population, especially in Amman. Road network is good both in terms of spread and quality of the roads. Public transportation in Amman is limited. Taxis are relatively cheap and easily available. There are a number of shopping malls, restaurants, gyms, and cinemas. A large variety of accommodation options can be found; however, it is worth noting that prices in Amman have generally increased in the past few years. There are no specific security threats. Amman is a very easy city in which to live; large, many amenities, very modern and serviced by an international airport with direct flights to most capital cities. According to the assessment of the UN Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) Jordan is a family duty station (category A hardship). As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the insurance plan.
